Catch up
Today I had to sort of play catch up on several things going on around me. I took my husband to a hospital to see if we could get an x ray. Unfortunately it didn't work out as he didn't have a doctor's order for it, and even though we were going to pay for it privately, they wouldn't do it.
Sad day.
We'll probably go to a different hospital on Wednesday in Warsaw and get it done - where we will see the doctor first to get the "order" for the x ray.
Earlier, I really did need to go shopping for groceries - and of course, a hundred million people were there. Ok, that's a slight exaggeration, but our grocery stores really seem to be crowded compared to what I experience in the states. Naturally I went to my favorite discount store, Lidl.
So, while I promised blues number 7 - I'm simply not ready to show it to you yet. Sorry about that. If you are sorely disappointed, well, I'm sorry - check back tomorrow. I'm working on that one and should be able to have it done by Wednesday.
My kids are due in from college on Friday afternoon - that is also on the radar. I've got my daughter's room about done - tomorrow I'm targeting my son's room for cleanup/organization. Unfortunately my husband never got his Murphy bed made - since he was planning on doing it this fall, but between having no vehicles and then breaking his leg, he didn't get it done. But we do have a nice mattress for him!
They are building a KFC a little over a mile from our house. Here are a couple of pictures of the progress. I am really having a hard time "getting it" that this is happening. We've not had any American fast food restaurants very close to us, so this is just amazing! I was thinking they were aiming for the end of the year, but that may be a bit optimistic.
One of the other things I do have to do that my husband normally does is the fire. I bring in the firewood and build a fire in the wood stove - and try to keep it a decent temperature in here.
And there you go - now you have my catch up post for today. I did sew - after we went to the hospital, after I went shopping and fixed dinner and tried to get it warm in the house as it had gotten pretty chilly in here - you get the picture!
But if you need something for your current or future sewing project, be sure to check out what my sis has over in the store!
