"Clean Up"
Number 54 in my series of using up my 2" strips is done!
I was especially pleased with the contrast of black and white on this one, so I decided to hurry up and push this one to the top of the line to quilt!
The backing was purchased in Morocco when my husband and I went last December. I loved it then and I love it now!
Before I forget - the pattern is here under the free patterns tab.
Make sure you check that out if you are interested in tons of ideas to use up those scraps. (Scraps can either be a burden or a blessing. I am choosing to make mine a blessing.)
This one is a real scrap buster!
Some call this size a postage stamp quilt, but I think of those as one step smaller - starting with 1.5" squares. This one uses 2" squares.
I am so tickled with how this one came out - using up a lot of those strips and squares that were on my sewing room floor, around my machine, etc. I really did have quite a mess! Now, I may still have a mess, but it is a much smaller mess now because of this one!
It finishes at about 95"x95" before quilting and washing, so it is a nice sized quilt and would make a great quilt for a queen sized bed. I used poly batting - 80 gram and a beautiful turquoise embroidery type poly thread I purchased at an open market in Istanbul, Turkey, a few years ago.
Make sure you check out the goodies my sister has for you from the store!
