Shrink bags - do they REALLY work?

11 quilts in that bag - though only 6 are "bigg-ish" - 3 twin, 1 full and 2 queen. Three are commonly called lap quilt size with only one a baby quilt size.
So, YES, definitely they work.
I was able to pick them up here on a popular local auction site for under $1/bag. The bags I used are about a meter long by 70 cm wide - and inside this piece of luggage are two of these shrink-em up bags.
I highly recommend them if you are travelling with quilts.
