"Scrappy Sawtooth Stars" top
Number 56 in my series using up 2" squares and strips.
For this one, I actually didn't use up a ton of those 2" strips and stars as I made the background all the same fabric - and the star points were made from various pieces of fabric that weren't cut into strips yet. Actually because I'm current on my cutting up of my scraps, I had to go to my stash and look for some very small pieces that looked like hardly more than fat quarters and chose them to cut up into the points.
The stars are a simple "Sawtooth Star" as Electric Quilt describes it. I added the interesting sashing to help give the whole thing some pizzazz.
Those thin blue strips in the middle are cut at 1" - I don't often use that skinny of a strip - but I wanted to for this look.
This makes quilt top number 14 for the year in my 2" strips series. I'm aiming for 21 this year in this series since I did 21 in 2015 and 21 in 2016. I am hoping to stick with that number again in 2017 since I still have plenty of 2" strips.
For those of you who are wondering what I'm talking about, let me refer you to another page here in this site--it is a summary of all of the 2" quilts I've finished in this series.
While I would love to tell you that the pattern is done, it isn't. I'll try to get it done before the end of the day today. You can check back for it later. I can't continue to blame everything on jet lag, but I really am still feeling a bit discombobulated after our return to Poland last Sat. afternoon. The older you get, the harder it is to adjust quickly.
