The Making of a Quilt, part 2

5. Sew, continued.

Yesterday my sis sewed the sashing on to her blocks. Today she continued by sewing her rows together.to make a finished center top.

6. Check for mistakes

Then, she took pictures of it to make sure that nothing is out of line as with this pattern, it is imperative that it all look right.

I always take pictures just to double or triple check for mistakes before continuing. Usually I catch them, but not always.

6. Press -

She's been pressing all along - just no pictures!

7. Sew borders

Now, she's working on the border.  This will take probably the rest of the day! :)  I'm hoping she can finish the border today but it is kind of a complicated border...so we'll see.

9. Press some more!

10. Finish the borders -

They are probably going to take as much time as the rest of the quilt.

Tomorrow we are hoping to be tourists - so maybe on Saturday, as it is expected to be cooler - we can sandwich and get her quilt quilted. Then, that will be behind us.

Oh...something to look forward to...next Tuesday we are going to have a "give away" - for our charity quilts.  So...Fun. Fun. Fun.

We'll keep you posted here or at the Facebook group - Becky Quilts in the Old Country!

But Rachael's minions are back in FL, waiting to fill orders and they are experts. In case you are wondering who they are - they are her daughter, Sarah, and my second daughter, Lydia. Both are professional and know how to fill and ship fabric orders. So don't be afraid to order!

Also Rachael got some more fabric right before they left on their trip so keep that in mind for when she gets back...there will be some new stuff then! Here's a section of  - ORANGE!
