Quilted Twins

Crumb/strings update

Over the weekend I actually quilted, went to my son and his wife’s house for dinner, went to the store, bound a couple of quilts and generally didn’t work on crumbs very much.

But I am making myself do at least a tiny bit each weekend.

And so I did.

I made 16 blocks of the crumbs/rail fence variety. Then I added them to the top I’m making week to week.

It’s only about 35”x40”. It’ll be much slower going from now on as the rows get longer.

I also added 125” inches to my paper tape - using mostly premade orphan blocks - so it was pretty easy.

I’m want to finish up this top but need to make up the tape first. I think I’m going to try to finish up this whole roll before I start chopping it up.

You probably don’t remember what I am doing with these things!

This is what I’m going to be doing with these strips - working “out” with grays getting lighter and lighter - and using these strips in between. When I think I have enough strips, I’ll add them to this top one weekend.

Christmas is getting closer and it’s time for me to at least start thinking about it!

What? You haven’t? Not very much. Hopefully my husband and I can go shopping this week - it’s kind of a tradition to go to the mall the week before Christmas and at least look around pretending to look! At our age, we don’t really need much and what we do need - it’s very specific!

Don’t forget to check out what my sis has for you over in the shop. She’s always putting up some new, wonderful things!
