The Run Up to the Big Finale - Getting Close!

Today was one of doing the kind of “last minute” type shopping that I needed to do - or thought I needed to do.

I am still waiting on some duvets that I ordered over a week ago now and I’m a little afraid that they won’t come in time.

But if they don’t, they don’t. I am considering trying to get some tomorrow afternoon locally if they haven’t come by about 3 pm. We’ll see.

After went to Lidl we needed to come back and unload before heading out again.

Anyway, today we went to Lidl again to buy supplies, then to another store called Carrefour where we found a set of pots and pans as well as a frying pan and other specific things needed. One lady is a diabetic and requested sweets for a diabetic. I had a hard time finding them, but finally did at that big supermarket - like Walmart.

After that, we hit up the home goods store, Jysk, which I didn’t go to the other day. It was mighty fine and the prices were also okay with what I wanted. This store was about 20 minutes away from our house - away from Warsaw!

We ended up getting what I thought was the duvet blankets that I lacked and some other things like mattress pads for the new beds that we bought. (I didn’t that the place I bought the duvet blankets would ship so slowly). Everyone has else done their best to get our things to use very quickly!

On our way back from Jysk we stopped at a furniture store and found the rest of the furniture that we wanted to buy!

However, due to the duvet covers and other things in the van, we didn’t have room for the furniture, so Mike had to go back for it.

Then we went out to grab a bite at McD’s. It was snowing pretty hard at this point - and Mike went by himself to get the furniture that they were dismantling so it would fit in a vehicle.

You all bought this for a family of 6 who all have to share the same closet. They didn’t have room for their clothes. This will help!

This is for the 12 year old boy.

While he was gone, I began to segregate and completely sort everything we got including all the groceries. It was quite a job and took pretty much the rest of the afternoon and into the evening. But I have gotten all the groceries taken care of. We are very short on boxes, however, and I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask my husband to go buy some. We simply have too much stuff and they aren’t allowing bags or anything like that. Everything HAS to be in a box.

Then, just for kicks, I decided to see how long it would take me to wrap a few presents. I wanted to get started. I’ve got a helper coming on Friday evening I hope, to help with the wrapping, but I have too much to do to get it all done with only 2 people in three hours. So, I wanted to get started. All it was was a token start, but I did.

I had to completely stort and get things put in boxes preliminarily so we can see what all we have and still need.

I did get both quilts that I made recently washed. I haven’t had a moment to make the pillowcases I want to. I will probably try to make just the really simple ones using a 27” and a 9” piece of fabric. I meant to buy some at Jysk today but what they were selling were awful. Not worth the money they were asking - not worth anything, actually — I wouldn’t want them!

Anyway, more details will have to wait. I want to share, but I’ve got to get to bed! Tomorrow’s another day and I have an elf coming in the evening to help me pack up - which is sorely needed!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Stay safe!

Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store here!
