Geometrics 2- baby quilt with blue
Well, these are getting to be pretty big baby quilts - Believe it or not, I had bought 3 meters of this light blue and decided to use it up with these quilts. I had to buy it locally as I had none of this shade of blue. Actually I’ve devastated my solid light blues. I guess that’s good. That means I’ve used a lot of them up. Mostly in charity quilts!
Anyway, I also didn’t have enough of the 2” strips left to make another one on point, so I made this one with 2.5” strips - which, naturally makes my blocks bigger.
But I do like it!
And I like how it tames the wildness of the geometric design fabrics.
I hope you like it as well.
Once again - I used the same 5 rail rail fence block. The difference with this one was that the strips are cut 2.5” x 10.5” long so the block is a 10.5” unfinished block. For the sashings I used 1.5” strips and the cornerstones are cut 3.5”. That’s all there is to it.
Here’s the layout:
See how easy that is? Not quite as easy as the ones I made not on point, but not bad either. I can explain how I did the side setting triangles when I write up the pattern. It’s not done yet.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
