Well, I ran out of month before I got this up, but that’s fine.

This is the result of my “June cutting” - I managed to do a fair bit - especially early in the month. At this point, I’m just trying to clean up here and there and grab a handful (or a plastic bin full) and trim up. Most of this actually came from my sewing room and just cleaning up in a few places. I still have some to do from my sewing room - hopefully in July! (I am nothing if not hopeful!)

So, I trimmed up a lot of little ones this time - all my mask trimmings and my scraps from making the two labels equalizer quilts - all got cut into 1.5” strips - so that was something!

So here goes!

2.5” - 12.05 lbs.

2” strips - 8.05 lbs.

1.5” strips - 17.86 lbs.

I outdid myself with 1.5” strips. I got so tired of cutting this size, but I was determined to get those smaller pieces cut up. The only size I could cut the smaller leftover pieces from those label equalizer shirts and have a piece I could use was 1.5".

My picture looks weird this time because I kept them subdivided this time - into mask leftover strips, second hand fabric strips and then all the rest.

This means my totals so far this year look like this -

Here’s the summary shot from June of the various baskets.

All of the 1.5”, 2”, and 2.5” clear plastic bags are filled and in a couple of places in the house now including my son’s old room and my sewing room. I’m probably not able to take “final pictures” of all the bags of strips because I’ve started digging into them and using them. So, sorry about that. Just know that I’ve started yet another 1.5” big clear bag and filled up the 3rd huge (30 gallon/120 liter) bag of 2” strips almost all the way to the top. I did share one of my 2.5” bags with Ewa and her mom and we’ll see if her mom will make us some charity quilts out of simply strips, sort of like a “Jelly Roll Race” quilt.

And don’t forget - there’s value in your scraps! If I just round out the weight of a “Jelly Roll” or random 2.5” strips roll to about a pound, then I have the equivalent of 12 of them with only the 2.5” strips I’ve cut. Don’t think, “Oh, it’s just a scrap - it has no value”! However, if you do think that way or just don’t want to mess with them, at least gather them up in a bag, and offer them up to someone else who would absolutely love to have them! I’m sure you can find someone because to them, they are “treasure”!

The rest of the year’s totals won’t be at all “amazing” like these have been - and that is fine! I think they will probably “trickle in” until I deal with the leftover backing fabric from charity quilts I hope to do in cooler weather.
