"Show Off Green Plaids"

This one is the first of the green series. Done. Wow. That was fast!

This is the same “Show Off” pattern I’ve used before.

I showed the top not long ago and while it has been cool the last couple of days, I quilted it.

I quilted it with loops and used poly batting so it is reasonably light but warm.

Otherwise, I was just using plaids from my upcycled greens. These greens are mostly blue-green - but as I’ve said - I’m using what I have.

This “Show-off’ pattern is pretty versatile - I’ve now used it several times- my original Show Off, with a variety of plaids, Show off Alaska and Show off the Farm and now this one Show off Green Plaids. It’s easy - and you get to use big squares so you can really see the design of the fabric. I like that. (I did see that Kelly Kramer over at Jo’s Country Junction did it with blues which was mighty pretty!)

Part of the reason I originally designed such a simple quilt was because of just that. It seems at times it’s a contest to see who can make the most complicated and tiniest pieces in your blocks - whereas sometimes the fabric itself is such that you want to see IT - the fabric - the designs on it. Here are the other three I’ve made.

While I’m not as taken with this one - the problem isn’t the design - it’s simply my green plaids. But what can I expect? It’s fine - it really is. My dad would have thought it was the best thing!

I wanted to make this one right away because it does take larger squares. Once I start cutting up these shirts, I will probably make blocks with progressively smaller pieces.

As usual - the quilt roll -

I trust you have a quiet, peaceful day and a fantastic Sunday.

Here in Poland they are having a big election day tomorrow (their elections are always on Sundays) and there is a bit of tension in the air about who might win. Some will be happy, others not so much - as always happens in elections.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
