Quilted Twins

Anniversary time for the Quilted Twins!

My sis and I got married almost 1 year apart - my husband and I were married on June 14, 1986 and Rachael and Ken were married the year (1985) before minus one day, on June 15.

So, Quilted Twin number 1 (Rachael) has been married 35 years and Quilted Twin number 2 (that’s me - Becky)- 34 years.

The Lord has been good to us. We both married men who have been faithful to us and to the Lord. We are most thankful to the Lord and to our very patient husbands! We both the tendency to “overdo”. They have put up with a lot from us!

I thought it would be nice to just to share a couple of pictures from each of the weddings. Yes, we made the bridesmaids’ dresses ourselves.

Rachael was married in PA where her husband, Ken, was an assistant pastor in a church in Centre Hall, PA. Becky was married in FL in her home church in Dade City, FL. Becky’s husband, Mike, had just come back from teaching for a year in Australia in a seminary, and was preparing to go back to school to earn his PhD. He had a job promised in Alaska to work on road construction for the summer.

Enjoy the pictures. Rachael and I wore the same dress. That way it cut the cost to us in half.

Rachael’s - June 15, 1985 - Ken and Rachael (Tillman) Woodard

We made the cake. Becky baked it, I believe, and Ken and I decorated it with a little help on the roses by a professional who made them and delivered them to me and we put them into position.

This was our version of funny before funny was “in.” We were standing outside in Rural Pennsylvania waving at the cars as they went past. None of this going to a park and causing a huge slow down of things while we took pictures.

This is our sister, Mary on the far left, with Becky sitting next to Rachael and then Ken.

We had a family friend who did the flowers for us at no cost. So pretty! I still love pink and lavender!

Everyone in the pictures is family except my second bridesmaid - her name is Dawn and she’s a missionary in Brazil right now! From left - younger sister Mary, BIL Ken, friend - Dawn Patefield, us, my brother Jon, Rachael, brother, David.

family shot - I am including this because you can see the bridesmaid’s dresses a bit better.

Mom and dad had 5 children - and I was the third to get married.

And because I know there is little that is MORE boring than looking at wedding pictures of people you don't know, I’m stopping with three of each!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
