Leftovers!
Several years ago I made a floral quilt - a curved log cabin which I dubbed “Rachael’s Garden” but I made too many blocks! I think what happened is that I added sashing strips which made the quilt big enough so that I didn’t need all the blocks I had made - as I changed my original plans!
I kept all the blocks together but didn’t do anything with them for some time.
Last year, once my blues project was about done, I decided that I really wanted to try to work down my “old unfinished” tops that I’ve had sitting around PLUS a few finished up blocks but that hadn’t been put together. It’s kind of been eating at me a little to have so many things unfinished.
So, I have, actually.
I now have a lot fewer unfinished tops here (not counting charity tops) than I’ve probably had for years and years.
So, last year I put the top together, and then I brought the top to the main floor of the house as that is one step closer to getting something quilted since I sandwich on the dining room table. Once I “bring it downstairs”, it is the sign to myself that it’s time to “think about a backing” and begin to think about finishing this thing up!
Anyway, I finished it up. The original pattern is “Rachael’s Garden” and is here. This little one finishes at 53.5” x 53.5”.
I may use it in our living room. It would work perfectly with the colors of my couch which are brown/green.
Other than that - there’s not too much to say about this particular little beauty!
I quilted it with swirls and curls.
It’s little so once again, it blows around in the breeze quilt easily, but it’s still very pretty!
And the quilt roll:
And now, I really need to get back to one of my other projects right now.
A doctor who visited the hospital where I donated masks last week saw them and really wants some for her children’s hospital in Warsaw. I know that not many people here in the area have such fun fabrics as I do…so I am feeling the need to get them made - and ASAP.
So, I’m off the computer, back to my machine. Am feeling the pressure!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Stay safe!
