I’ve been trying to focus and work hard on these charity quilts. As I’ve now surpassed 90+ quilted, my mind is starting to race to the end. It will really do it once I get all 120 sandwiched, but I haven’t done that.

Yet.

First of all, if you have donated tops to me/us - let me start by saying a hearty Thank you ! We do appreciate them very much! All of them!

Here are the pretties that I’ve been working on since the last post about the donated tops. For the most part, these are quilted with loops and more loops.

I’m still in shock people would give me a Lone Star top! The one shown below is actually the second one I’ve been given to quilt up. Believe me - I’ll gladly take them - even if they are wonky! The yellow one I did a few years ago was very curved (concave center), but it turned out magnificent and was snapped up with the first lady who came to get quilts!

But otherwise, I’m finding a loop de loop to be reasonably fast and I feel confident it will hold the quilt in place.

The straight line quilting actually takes a bit longer - especially if I do a lot of it on a top. But I like the look.

And you know how I feel about 9 patches, right? So, naturally, this one is a favorite of mine!

This curved line on the Janome probably took longer than any of them. For some reason my Janome 12000 kept telling me to check the needle plate?? so I had to keep pushing the “x” on that note to get going again. I’ll wait and do any more with that design when I get my 8900 back from the shop - which I hope will be any day now!

Then, of course, it is time to start on those black and colorful ones. I had the backing by now and so it was time to work on them.

I originally thought I would use black thread on them, but then decided I didn’t want to do that. On each of these, I’ve used a different color - but none are black. This one - I believe it is very light blue.

Now…as I mentioned before, I’m not sure why anyone would give away something so beautiful unless they just had things even MORE beautiful at home. And maybe that is so. Or maybe you are just a wonderfully generous person. Anyway, This Lone Star top turned into a very handsome quilt!

Then a couple more - I feel like I’m copping out by doing all the loops, but it is quick and I like the look. Plus, it’s actually quite a bit easier for me than a simple meander. A meander is faster, true, but I can’t do it as well.

This next one is so bright - truly gorgeous! It will be a quick snatch as well - though by an adventurous person. I’ll be curious to see who takes such a bright quilt! (I love it!)

This quilt will be perfect to cheer up someone who needs that bit of color in her life! It’s so beautiful - I will admit to wishing to keep this one myself! (but I won’t - never fear!)

I’m still a little concerned about the difference in blacks in this one - but it’s done. And what is done is done. I’ll bet someone will love it anyway. I added from the middle section - starting just after the light green - (I think). My first black was not as black of a black as the original top - the middle.

This next one is very bright while using popular solids. I’m thinking a guy will take it - which is why I used the camo fabric on the back!

And there you are - the most interesting “pretties” I’ve been quilting in the last few days.
