I thought I’d share how I save my quilt pictures.

I made a file on my computer which I call “My Named Quilts”.

Inside the folder are a bunch of other folders - they look like this!

Then, when I click on one of those folders, MORE folders come up.

Let me show you what happens when I click on the 2” quilts folder:

I put them in numerical order - usually that is the order that I finished them.

As I work on a quilt, and when I take pictures, I put them into the file folder where they go. That way, the next time I want to look at the photos of that quilt, the best ones are in that folder. I do not put ones I don’t like in it - they are just in my general pictures folder by date.

I do use paint.net - free program found on the internet - to work with my photos - trimming and cutting/cropping and pixelating what I don’t want others to see.

I also put the pattern as an MS Word file and as a PDF file here in this folder. That way I can find them easily.

Here is “Sheet of Stamps” - number 23 in my 2” quilts folder. These are the photos I saved for this quilt. They also include layouts and diagrams I use for the pattern.

You can see along the bottom that there is a PDF file - that is the pattern.

This particular file - My Named Quilts also has a file folder that is called Charity quilts 2020. At the moment it is an empty folder.

This file folder called My Named Quilts is huge. Right now it is over 86 GIGs.

Anyway, this is my “overall” folder of quilts that I’ve made that I’ve named. These quilts, for the most part, have been made since 2015 and are not specifically charity quilts.

I know - I wrote it like I talk to a typical Polish person in English - in short sentences. :) Sorry about that.

I’m not sure if this helps you at all, but I’d encourage you to keep photos of your quilts - if for no other reason than to see how you improve - or to remind yourself of what you’ve already made! It is kind of fun to look back!
