My Favorite Scissors!

It was about 3 years ago now (not quite 3) that I actually held my first pair of Kai scissors/shears.

I was at a textile expo in the center of Poland and I went to a booth area to check out the notions and things like binding attachments, fancy tape measures, etc.

One sales lady approached me about these Kai scissors and I tried to decline holding them. They looked expensive and I was trying to be “content with what I had”. But she insisted. I figured that it wouldn’t hurt anything to put my hands in them and hold them.

Wow.

I was so surprised. I’ve had Fiskars, Marks, and Gingher - but nothing felt like these!

So, later when my husband asked me for an idea for what I wanted for my birthday, I told him, a pair of Kai scissors! Then, I asked for some more for Christmas, and then the next year - I got some more.

Now my collection is wonderful!

They look like this! I have everything from little trimmers to big seamstress shears.

From left - 11” (7280), 10” (7250SL), 8” (7205), 6-2/3” (7170), 5.5” (3140S), 4” (5100).

Let me warn you - these are not inexpensive scissors/shears. They are top of the line. But, let me assure you, especially the larger ones are so worth it. They just feel so good. They cut like butter. The “Professional” line is amazing. The largest four I have are from that series (They start with a 7 in the number).

Many times as we grow older our kids/spouses/family ask us what we want for our birthdays/Christmas/special occasions as they have NO IDEA what we want. Why is that? because it seems like we have everything. Well, you could give them one of these as a suggestion. I’d especially recommend these to those of us who are growing older and maybe are beginning to have issues with our hands hurting or just fatigue. Just try one. You will be quite pleased.

Just to make it easier for you - I thought I’d give you links to all of them except for 7170 and the 3140S - which don’t seem to be available on Amazon.

These are all affiliate links:

The 7170 pair is available on Ebay though it may be international and the Kai scissors store has them available here. (It’s not Amazon and I’m not associated with this site.)

The 3140S scissors are available from the Kai scissors store here. (It’s not Amazon and I’m not associated with this site.)

Confession to make - as I was taking these pictures, I noticed that my littlest pair - the 4” ones do not have any “KAI” words at all. I believe we bought a “fake” pair. I would love to get a real pair and compare the difference. (I’ve had a little time getting used to my littlest ones - not finding them as nice as the others ones I’ve had.) Now my husband said he will get me a pair with the words “KAI” on them. We bought them locally from our auction site here in Poland. I hate that. Oh well.

Anyway…should you want to get some fabric - take a look at what we have here in the store.

And, if you are interested in “scissors” fabrics - we have several. Check out this link!
