"Simple Long Blocks" - Geometrics 14 finished

The block that makes up this quilt.

This quilt is simply made up of a single block. No sashing. No nothing extra. Just blocks. Because of that, it is very easy. It was also incredibly fun to make because it was so “different” from what I normally do.

I appreciated how simple it was - no “on point” layouts or borders and I got to use up some of the rosy pink or dusty rose fabrics I had - some of my favorite colors ever!

Someone commented that the quilt ended looking like birch trees. I had to admit—it was true.

And I thought it would be appropriate to show it in hanging in the midst of birch trees.

I struggled with the wind each time I attempted to get a picture of this quilt. In fact, I tried three times - two different days - two times in the early morning and one time later afternoon. By the third time, I decided that I would just choose the best from what I had.

Most of you realize that this is number 14 in my Geometrics series. It’s here. All in one quick summary if you want to see where this series has been and where it is going.

I quilted this one simply with all over loops.

I usually crop long distance pictures much closer than I’m leaving this. I’m leaving all these trees just so you can see how it looks hanging out there in the middle of them.

If I had used cotton batting, possibly it would have hung better. The poly batting is just so light and flimsy, that the small quilt just doesn’t hang as well as I wanted it to!

Of course, the wind didn’t help. Then, it seemed like when I walked away from the quilt and looked back, it was all still. Oh well. I gave up fighting the wind. I figured the third time was “it”.

As usual - the quilt roll:

The pattern is written. It is on the Free Patterns page and on the Geometrics page. (if you click the big picture of the quilt).

Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Stay safe and well!
