Quilted Twins

"BOHO Chic"

Here it is! This one created quite a roar among some of you.

It’s a very simple, extremely busy quilt! I went ahead and finished it with a probably the easiest free motion quilting design there is - loop quilting.

Here’s a closeup of part of it.

I didn’t think anything fancy would be necessary since because of the fabrics, you can’t really see the quilting to speak of! Of course, up close you can!

This quilt was built around this fancy trim or ‘tape’ which I found here in Poland on our local auction site (like Ebay but not Ebay).

The whole color scheme was based around this - which is new - though I did take the advice of one of you all and washed it in hot water so that it would shrink if it was going to. Well, I soaked it in hot water and dish detergent - didn’t actually wash it. However, there was no bleeding or noticeable changes to the fringe or colors, for which I am thankful.

I really love this ‘fringey’ trim and working with it didn’t change my feelings about it at all. I am glad I have a bit of it leftover.

I did finish quilting the quilt, then washed it and dried it and then last, after binding, I added this bit of bling, if I may call it that.

I sewed the tape on using yellow thread in the middle of the yellow stitching that was on the tape.

When it stopped and started, I ended up folding the tape like this instead of trying to make it actually overlap. This way a double thickness was the most I had to work through.

Here’s a close up of the finished product.

I did the corner with a miter as well as I could. It was pretty thick, so not super easy to do, but I managed.

There was no real rhyme or reason as to the layout, but I did work on a pattern for those of you who asked.

As it is hanging up - this is how the border trim looks!

The backing is also from upcycleds - the red/pink being a duvet cover.

The quilt roll - as usual - I enjoy looking at.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Stay safe!

Oops - Let’s review the UP Greens so far.

I’ve been sidelined a bit on them. Here’s a review of where we are.

6/16 are completely finished.
