"Checkered" - Up Greens #8 update
I did get a chance to work on this top a bit more lately.
It is now 78” long along one of the shorter sides (it would be the same along the two shorter ones since so far they are the same length. I won’t begin to make it longer til after three more rows.)
I added three more rows. These three rows took a total of 75 more 16 patch blocks.
Here you can see some of the strip piecing where I’m sewing a couple of strips of 4 little blocks together. I sewed these together in groups of two and then then sewed two of those together.
After I finished enough blocks, I made three long rows - and then sewed those three rows together. After that was finished, I added that piece to the rest of the top. I’m running out of space here as the quilt is starting to actually “get big”!
This will allow you to see some of the fabrics “up close”.
Here are some pictures of the progress so far.
You can see how it changes as it grows from time to time. Just click the arrows.
Because I’m stretching this one out over all this time, I am keeping all the pieces that go with this top in this plastic container. That way, if I put it away for a couple of weeks, when I am ready to back to working on it, I can just open the lid and all the pieces or parts of pieces are there.
This is the UP Greens series so far:
