Nora gets her quilt

I must give lots of credit to Sarah, Nora’s mom, for the colors as these are what she chose. When I had a choice about color placement (order of the borders), I sent her mockups from the Electric Quilt program and she chose which one she wanted.

It’s always fun to watch someone giving a gift to a recipient. We had the privilege of watching Becky give a quilt that she had made for Nora, my 2 year old granddaughter,

Nora, at 2, loves unicorns, and her two older sisters have quilts with unicorns on them.

So, she decided to adapt our “showcased” pattern and make her a colorful quilt. Enjoy the photos as you watch a 2 year old get a beautifully fun quilt.

Nora was naming all the colors on the quilt. She had a lot of fun holding the quilt when it was all folded up. She gave her “Aunt Becky” a hug and told her “thank you.” It was precious!

Later on in the day Sarah put the quilt on her bed (which is on the floor) … and then all 3 of the girls enjoyed it!

Thank you, Rachael, for sharing these photos here! I’d already forgotten that you took them.

To everyone -

If you did want the Showcased pattern, you can get yours here. It works well for the narrow 24”x42” panels that are so common nowadays. The original pattern shows a horse and uses white around it. In this one I did add an extra outer border to make it bigger and you can see what I did to the top and bottom. My niece wanted it to be bed sized.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!

Thanks for coming along on my quilting journey with me!

Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store here!

Here’s one of the beauties we have!
