Feb. 2021 Strips Report

I know, it’s not quite the end of the month. but I I have another blog post planned for Saturday and Sunday is the last day of the month. So, I thought I’d share today.

This month decided to just fly by! Seriously!

I did a lot of cutting early in the month and then I cut a lot for the charity quilt tops I prepared for Ewa’s mom to sew up for me. Then I started cutting up greens. I cut and cut those!

I will note that at last it feels like I’m starting to see progress on those greens! That is exciting to me! I’m currently working on quilt tops 11, 12, and 13 (plus number 8) so I should start to see some dent in those misc. pieces floating around my dining room table.

Anyway, I decided to put the pedal to the metal and focus on these again this last week so I’d have something more to report. Plus, I’m getting the feeling that you get when you almost get caught up. Well, that may be a little exaggeration, but each cut I make gets me that much closer to having no more to trim down - for the moment, anyway!

So here goes.

Here are the results for February:

2.5” strips

2” strips

1.5” strips.

Here is the Word table that I’m keeping for the year - so I can keep on top of how much I cut up this year.

For 2021

Oh, and the only reason I do it this way - I have no idea other than this way how to keep track of what I’m doing. I’m not about to measure lengths, or roll them all into so called “Jelly Rolls” or put these pieces neatly in boxes, etc. So, weighing it makes the most sense to me. And at least it’s something.

Here are my bags of strips for the year. Because so far I’ve been focusing on greens, I’ve not used very many, if any, this year. But I will. The only thing that thwarts me is TIME! :)

So what can someone do with these? This 2.5” pattern would be really nice for the 2.5” ones.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Stay safe!
