Quilted Twins

Mosaic in 1.5" top finished!

I did finish up this top!! You didn’t hear me scream. Instead, maybe you heard a sigh of relief! I don’t know which one. Maybe neither. I was glad to see this one come an end. I always like the ones I make with small blocks, because they create a lot of detail, but I’m always glad to see them finished as well!

it is now just over 104” long and about 96” wide. It’s a nice size.

So happy to have it done! I can’t wait to actually finish it up by quilting it. However, so far I’ve not had the chance to do that

I got on a roll and just kept sewing. Sewing and Sewing.

This top represents a lot of work! I think if you’ve worked with this size of bricks, then you know exactly how much work it was!!!

Just to remind you - I did follow this pattern when making it. You can easily make it with bricks of any size. Now that this size is done, I have bricks of the 2.5”x4.5”, 2”x3.5”, 1.5”x2.5” or bigger - 3”x5.5”, or 3.5”x6.5”. I’ve got some bricks of the two larger sizes made and want to get started on those as well, which should go together exponentially faster!

I had put the quilt to down and taken a few pictures when our cat, Tuq, came and sat down on it. Naturally I had to take a couple of photos. He’s a beautiful long-haired gray cat with a sweet personality!

I did use up a LOT of scraps making this quilt - and so can you! It’s a fantastic scrap buster—! Especially small ones!

Here are some comparison shots of the three sizes I’ve made this in so far!

I’m not going to go any smaller than this - never fear! I’m not crazy!!

I’m happy to have been able to get piecing again! I will be quilting, too, though! It’s winter and a perfect time to quilt, so quilt I must.

But right now we’ve got a puzzle on the table. Need to get that one done so I have access again! I’ll show you when we finish! I’m only willing to give it an hour a day (it’s kind of an exercise for me to MAKE myself sit and work on it for an hour - to force myself to “not” do work during that time!) Plus it’s going to be pretty cool when finished!

There’s probably a reason someone sold a 2000 piece puzzle at a yard sale for 75cents without even opening the bags! I think we’re crazy, actually! The colors on this are impossible!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
