Quilted Twins

View Original

So what have I been doing?

Getting ready to leave involves a lot of “cleaning up” from all the various projects I’ve been doing.

My niece, Sarah, had saved back a panel for me to make up for her third daughter so that she can sort of match her sisters as they all share the same room.

This is what I worked up using the Showcased pattern I made up a few weeks ago. I worked on this yesterday and early this morning so I could get it done and quilted before I leave. I kind of waited a long time to do this! (I had wanted to get my ‘other sewing’ done first.)

Sarah said her daughter, Nora, can’t decide what her favorite color is, so we just went with ‘everything’.

Here’s hers. We’ll get a real photo of the whole thing finished after we get it back from the long-armers, bound and washed.

It turned out very pretty!

I really did a lot of changes to the coloration of the pattern. I also added a couple of borders to make it a twin size.

I will see if I can find her other big sisters’ quilts.

If you are wondering what the original pattern looks like - it is this -

So there you are. I’m just playing at this point. I’m trying to gather together things I really want to take back, and finish up all the misc. projects I’ve started or wanted to start and finish or get asked to do.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Stay safe!
