Rachael received some tops that were sent by some of you all to help with our charity outreach in Poland.

They are WONDERFUL! I am not sure how to adequately express my appreciation to those of you who have given me quilt tops. I appreciate if you make them just for me, BUT I also appreciate the ones that you just have decided that you just simply don’t want to finish up for yourself or any of your own family or loved ones. We can use them for our nonprofit organization in Poland (not Quilted Twins - this is our organization called Fundacja Opoka).

My sis said I should mention the sizes that I am going for if I making them - and I have two basic sizes -

• a single/European twin which is about 60”x80” - but it can be as small as 57” and up to 61 or 62” If it is wider than that or larger like 66” or wider, I will just add borders to them to make a queen or double.

or

• a doubles/queen which is which is about a 80”x84” or bigger. I like bigger than that, though. GLADLY. I can’t help but think that for two people, a 90”x100” is better.

  
  

If it is even close, I will just add a couple of borders to make them those measurements to make a beautiful quilt. I do my best to add borders that coordinate and or match. I’ve had a lot of fun doing that, in fact!

So, any tops that are sent to me, I can use. I’ve had given to me as small as a 29”x29” and made it into a twin. :) Here’s one that I had to add a lot of borders to, but I think in the end, you can’t tell very well. If I tell you that the donated part was the center, I think you can see I actually enjoyed adding borders to this one!

So here is a set of tops I was sent by someone a while ago now and my sis has had them in her Chop Shop. I now have them and will take them back to Poland with me.

I have some more by two more donors - but they will be for another post!

If you happen to want to send me any tops you’ve made and maybe grown indifferent to, I will gladly finish them and put them in our donation quilts.

Here’s my pile for 2020 - which I guess I will have a give away this fall - when the weather is cooler in Poland. I love it when I have donated tops because it provides me with a nice variety of quilts. Otherwise, I have a tendency to make the same types, and that gets boring - especially for me as I quilt them even though I enjoy looking at each individual quilt. I’m hopelessly in love with these things! All of them!
