2021 charity quilts #91-100
Here are the next 10 charity quilts! Remember - these have been done now for a couple of weeks, but I’m showing them just ten at a time - just to spread them out for you, the viewers. Plus, I actually may take a few minutes and just admire them when they are not all shown at the same time!
Believe it or not, there are times I just look back at quilts I’ve made and say, “Really—I did that?” I think I get a little bit possessed with wanting to get things done so much so that I don’t always appreciate the finished quilt as much as I should. So, these photos help me sit back and just enjoy. All of these tops originally came from Fran. All I did was add the final two borders.
I took a lot of these to the church building at the same time.
These are now all large quilts - so all are about 90x100”.
A couple of them may be closer to 80”x90” as not every single one of the large ones are as big as 90x100.
We now have this many in the building.
The overall look of the piles of the quilts in the building is now getting well…words fail me as to how best to describe them. It is just better to show.
The pile that you look at straight ahead is a little squirrelly. When I came back upstairs after piling these up, this whole pile of quilts was on the floor. It had toppled over. The problem, as best as I could see, was that the container below was crushed. I had taken out a lot of the tops that were in it and without the tops to keep it full and heavy, it couldn’t hold the weight of the quilts without squishing. It is easy to forget how heavy all these quilts actually are!
Here is a step by step photo journey as the piles in the church get overall bigger and bigger. Naturally there are times when I take out quilts to give them away, so it’s not quite as steady of a build as maybe one might think. Soon they will be given away en masse. The ones we don’t give away on November 6 will be saved and many will probably be handed out during the Christmas season.
I’d like to work this pile waaay down.
