2021 Charity quilts #41-50
Yep. It’s that time again. It happens every week about now.
These are the next ten that are completely finished, washed and dried and ready to give away!
So, if I’m counting 10 a month, this puts me to getting caught back up to May. My, oh my. I was in FL all of May - with a short trip to SC for my youngest son’s wedding. It is amazing how time flies.
Many of these tops were ones that I had had from Fran in the form of baby blankets which she tied but didn’t finish (bind).
While I was with my friend in the hospital a while back now - as she was getting her radiation treatments, I took them with me to the waiting room and actually cut the ties and took them apart while waiting so that I could finish these as big quilts. I found that while baby quilts might be needed, they are much harder for me to give away and I didn’t need this many. Instead, I opted to add the borders and make them into the single size quilts which are sorely needed.
Those older ones are the ones you see with the little label on the front. Normally I put the label somewhere on the back, but when Fran had the labels, she put on the front. Once she ran out, I started putting them on the back when I finished up the quilts.
We now are connected with a security system in our building. I will have to remember to turn off the alarm when I go in! :)
Nice problem. It’s not very costly and it does provide us with some peace of mind. I especially appreciate the idea that if thieves break in again, after 30 seconds a big siren will go off!
In this collection I am now up to 52 children’s quilts. So of the total of 146 quilts in the building, 52 are for children - all the rest for older people. Here are the two closeups. On the left are the adults/teens ones and the second photo - the children’s.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Thanks for coming along with me on my quilting/sewing journey!
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store here!
Here’s one of the beauties we have!
