Another Trip - and Back Safely

One of my trips into a store today. I was by myself for this one so I made it easy - only two items - flour and cocoa powder. It made it easy to check out.

My husband just came back from another trip to the border.

This is the second one with our own trailer. The biggest “plus” about having our own is that he doesn’t have to justify going across the border to the rental agency. Officially they didn’t want people to take their trailers into Ukraine, but they also told my husband, “What we don’t know won’t hurt us.”

He said it pulls very nicely.

The last load he took had mostly just meat - almost 2 tons of it. This one had a nice variety of items.

In this load, he took, among other things, 7 of my own quilts that I decided to clear out of my daughters’ room when I needed to make some room. They went in those clear vinyl bags.

I also sent 11 charity quilt sets (in the duffel type bags) and 20 duvets and cover sets. I was generous here as I had heard that this place has some needs in this area. I know if helping a whole bunch of people, these numbers are measly. I’m thinking that this is just like sticking your toe in the water when getting ready to jump in the pool. Just getting a feel for how it can work - once we start getting all the quilts!

It did take a while to pack this up, but thankfully we had quite a bit of help. I was mostly a taper and photographer. We have to tape things up if they are going to flop and fall out of the boxes they are in.

Anyway, the guys met up with their Ukrainian contact, transferred the stuff in about 40 minutes into his truck and headed back into Poland.

So…another trip there and back…safely. So grateful!

From what we have heard these goods are greatly appreciated! I can’t wait to get some feedback on the quilts sets.

And there you - the guys are planning another trip on Friday and I really want to have the next set of charity quilt tote bags ready so I spent some time today binding 10 quilts - and have half of them washed. :)

Thanks so much for reading and caring!

Have a great day!

And if you do want to help cover shipping those quilts that Rachael has been collecting over to us here in Poland, please do so here. We’re making great progress on that total and we appreciate it so very much!
