A BIG Puzzle:

My son and his wife did some work and they ended up getting my husband and I this puzzle for Christmas!!!

Wow. Just wow. He knows we like to do puzzles of places we’ve been and then glue them together and put them on the walls of our home as kind of reminders of where we’ve been. This one is of Jerusalem. It was a perfect choice, but it is big - 3000 pieces. And just check out the colors! This is not going to be an easy one.

Because of how big it is and how long it will take, my husband is building another table. - one that we can put in the living room to be used just for this puzzle. I fully expect this to take at least a couple of months. I told him I didn’t want my main table taken up for that long with the puzzle.

Joanna’s health:

Then…remember a few days how I mentioned that I shouldn’t say that I’m going to do this or that - but only if the Lord wills? I mentioned that everything depends on health, etc. Well, later that day or the next, I got a phone call from a lady I didn’t recognize the number - and she told me that a lady that I normally talk to every day (Joanna or Asha for short) or every two days had a stroke and is in the hospital in serious condition - not talking yet. Her name is Joanna/Asha. If you are a praying person, would you please pray for her? She just got over COVID and yes, she has other problems including diabetes and some other issues. She’s 60.

Current status of Greens:

Then I thought I’d show you the current status of the greens boxes. Here they are.

Here are the boxes.

Here are the pockets and labels. I am going to save the labels to make another lap quilt with those labels like the other two I’ve made. The pockets are another matter. I’m going to do something with at least some of them.

Here are my strips that are cut up already.

I was trimming for a few more minutes - a couple of days ago. I’m just trying to get in 15 minutes at a time.

Here are some unsorted things that are waiting to be cut up. These are just what I’m calling “dregs” meaning very small pieces. The pieces are not enough for me to want to put them back in the boxes.

Here are two duvet covers that I want to use primarily for binding. I may go ahead and trim them up and prepare the binding - am curious how many quilt bindings I could get out of these. I also can use at least parts of these for making backings for the 15+ UP greens that need to be quilted. There are also some leftover blocks.

This one I will just measure, add a border if necessary and let it be a whole cloth quilt.

And that’s about all I have left of the greens.

I am getting ready to close up the series as soon as I can work those 1.5” strips (especially) down. I will move the pockets and labels to another place where I will just let them collect for future things. I made two different quilts out of the blue pockets, but my greens just don’t have that variety and I’m just not feeling it at the moment. I may attempt one quilt out of them now and save what I don’t use for fidget mats, etc. We’ll see what the next couple of weeks brings.

Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store here!

Here’s one of the beauties we have!
