"Butterflies in Flight" - a New Quilt Kit offered by Quilted Twins
Here’s another of the quilts I made last summer - summer of 2021 while I was in Florida caring for mom after COVID.
We actually still have quite a few of those quilts to show you - sorry - life has been a little hectic since February. Can you believe it is already June? Wow.
Anyway, she has plenty of these panels left. They are gorgeous!
These blender types are a tie dye type design - but really any blender would work very well. We just tried to match the colors in the main panel as best as we could.
A bit of a close up. this way you can see the colors.
We had long armers do the quilting and it is beautiful! They used butterflies and swirls.
This is mom’s back pasture.
Did I tell you that early on when mom was in the living room and I had my machine in the dining room - mom’s face was pointed away from the machine. One time in her early recovery she said to me with a puzzled sound in her voice, “It’s as if I am hearing a sewing machine - why?” I then laughed and told that is because I’m sewing over there. At that point I realized she was doing well enough and we moved the bed so she could look outside the window AND in the dining room so we turned the bed 90 degrees.
After that she could see me when I sewed. I still chuckle when I remember that conversation. Those early days weren’t always so fun, so that was a pleasant memory - at least to me it was a sign that she was cognizant and aware of her surroundings.
Anyway - mom continues to do well enough - so that she’s at home alone. I know she would love to have someone else living there with her - she’s almost 90.
Anyway - here is the quilt kit that Rachael is offering. Only $52!!!
If all you want is the pattern - well, you can get that here. It’s $5.
