"Cobblestone Greens" finished
This is one of the Upcycled Greens series of quilt tops that I’ve made in the last couple of years - and I finished it! This is actually number 19 in the series.
I have been trying to get back into doing things that I need to do - and one of those things is to finish all my Upcycled Greens series of tops - along with others.
Usually I write up the patterns as I finish them and upload it all to the website under our free patterns page. However, this is a free pattern put out by Robert Kafuman. So, obviously I am not writing it up. It’s already available!
Here is the finished top.
When I made the top, I focused on finding softer florals in my greens box. As a result, there is a variety of designs here. They are hard to incorporate into a single quilt. When I went to look for a pattern, I needed something like this one - colors that work together with a sashing strip that pulls it all together.
The fabrics here, up close, as you can see, are a variety of floral prints plus a couple of other miscellaneous designs.
Hey - you do what you have to do! My goal here was to try to use up a lot of those misc. greens- though, as you can see, apparently my “green” category sort of meant “if it has green in it”.
I did use second-hand fabrics on the back as well. The duvet I had wasn’t big enough so I had to add a white strip to make it larger. But it worked just fine.
I was struggling with the wind a bit - it’s been a little bit damp and rainy in the last few days and I really wanted to get this one photographed! It’s only about 2 pm but as dark as others have between 5 and 6 pm.
From the top looking up towards the sky.
From the side. I do like how the pure white sashing does work in spite of it not being dark. I was going for the “pretty” look with this one and I think it happened. Obviously if you had nicely coordinated fabrics - it could even be more beautiful!
The quilt roll - as you know, I like to share these.
This was the quilt design - bubbles - double bubbles and loops.
This is the Upcycled Greens series so far. As I finish the tops and write the patterns, the pictures get adjusted into the finished quilt photos.
Thanks again for coming along with me on this journey!
Have a great day wherever you are reading!
