2022 Charity quilts #111-120
Well, I couldn’t have pushed it must closer for this year to finish them up.
But I did. I give the credit to every one else, however, as obviously without so much help in making tops, there is simply no way I could have made it.
But done is done.
One thing - I think a lot of these look really warped. I believe that it is mostly how I dried them. I used those metal drying racks and they didn’t dry flat. I think they would have been much, much better had they been able to dry them flat.
Anyway…here are the last 10 for this year. Be sure to click on the arrow to see the next one.
I did manage to take pics when the weather outside was a little on the iffy side. In fact, I’m not sure how to describe the weather - but it was a cross between a drizzle and a bit of a sprinkle. But I took the photos anyway!
But I am quite relieved that these are done for the year 2022. I know - it’s not any too soon.
Thank you again for everyone who helped. In these quilts we had some from the Big Fabric Haul (the browns), Ewa’s quilts, and Ewa’s mom’s quilts and a couple were sent from you all. I appreciate all of the help from everyone.
I’m looking forward to 2023 when I don’t have to limit my quilting to only the cold months. The room where the long arm is in the basement of our house so it is cooler down there - year round. In the past I’ve been unable to quilt in the hot summer days because my regular sewing room is upstairs and gets too hot for me to want to quilt and have all that heat on my body as the quilt drapes over you as it does when you quilt on a domestic machine.
I was able to finally get all the charity quilts moved out of my house to the room upstairs at church where they can wait patiently for me to find new homes for them. I prefer to have at least 100 for a give-away and currently I think I have about 57 or so. Actually, I failed to count them - but because I did pack up so many and send them on in quilt sets to Ukraine, or gave them away locally during the course of the year, I do lack quite a few - even though I did finish 120. However, that’s okay. My goal isn’t actually to have a huge stash of quilts - though, naturally, by now I don’t mind actually have some in reserve.
Thanks again for coming along with me on this journey!
