Weekly Review of Ukraine Efforts

This week I did almost nothing with regards to Ukraine expect put in an order with JB Wholesale so that it will be ready on the 9th or 10th of November.

Otherwise, I was asked to help but I really wanted the week off, for my own sake and my mental sake. I have been following the war closely and with all the Ukrainians around us - it is rather heavy material.

Anyway, This is a photo of the wholesale place where I go and order.

They then prepare the food like this - putting it all on a pallet. This particular pallet was part of a different order we paid for for Kharkiv, Ukraine.

I did buy a few things at Lidl - some work lamps that Lidl had this past week - and some big bags of diapers, which they don’t always have.

Since I don’t have other activities from Ukraine, I wanted to share with you a couple of recent notes I’ve received which I wanted to pass along to you.

From Larysa - who helped organize one of the last loads that Mike took to Ukraine for the Kharkiv region.

The guys from Kharkiv said they have never seen things of such high quality sent as an aid to the eastern regions of our country. Thank you all for all you've done.

I then wrote that I would let our friends know. She replied,

Yes, send our thankfulness, and we'll send more photographs when the help reaches Kharkiv region

And I'm sure this gift of love will do great things in the hearts of those whom it touches. It can't be otherwise...

I also recently got a couple of notes via Viber.

This one is from a pastor - we do not know from whom he got the things he got - but know he got quilts because that is where my phone number (for Viber contact) is - on the letters I sent.

Here is his note.

This is via an automatic translation service. I don’t read Ukrainian or Russian.

Congratulations to you. We are so grateful to our God that we have many friends. This work that you do for us Ukrainians, it shows how much you love he Lord, and love us, these gifts that you send, they mean a lot to us. Thank you for giving away to those in need. May our good God bless you with his blessings, joy, peace and prosperity we wish you. ECB Church in Yakushiv. Pastor S. F. E. (I left off his last name).

This are photos of the quilts he sent me.

I thought those two notes were particularly sweet today.

I’ve been ingesting a lot of news about the war in Ukraine lately so seeing nice notes - it’s refreshing.

Thank you all for your help in this effort. Even Sunday I was able to give away 6 sets to people who are in an area of Ukraine being under assault - from time to time (Odessa).
