Here are the next 8 tops I’ve been working on. All of these are made from squares from Ewa and her mom.

I cut up the wonky tops or ones that I thought might be too hard to quilt with a long arm (I think it might be easier to manipulate a top with a domestic than a long arm) because of the unevenness.

So, I had just a lot of 10.5” squares which I am now sewing into tops. They make interesting tops - crumb tops. I will use a piece of fabric with a single design on the bottom so people can have truly a double sided quilt. One side - wild, the other side - simple.

All of these are those crazy types - and as such they may not look that different to you. I had to look carefully to see the differences in them when putting the photos here - but they are there.

Here is an enormous pile of quilt tops in my living room waiting for me to quilt! I guess I’d best get busy.

I also have bins full of tops at the church building. This is one reason I really feel the need to get a long arm.

My own body just can’t do it all without some serious repercussions - esp. my left wrist. I’ve been taking it so easy in the last year and a half that I’ve not had problems with what I saw back in 2020 but it could come back (the symptoms of carpal tunnel with feeling in my left wrist).

OK, after writing this earlier in the day, I got curious as to how many quilt tops were actually in this little collection. Here they are. there are 10 tops in each pile. There were 3 leftover which aren’t shown.

Then, Fran has sent me boxes of tops and I’ve not actually dealt with yet. In fact, these four boxes aren’t even opened yet. I couldn’t handle dealing with those in addition to all the other things I’ve been doing in the last few months. So, they are just sitting here - in the kitchen area. As soon as I can get a handle on these charity quilts, I can check out these boxes. :)

The green bin underneath these boxes is also full of charity tops. I didn’t want to take them to church because we have people staying upstairs at the church. No one is sleeping in my storage room, but nonetheless, I feel like I’m invading the space of someone else when I go up there. Plus, I think I need to add borders to each of these tops before I take them anywhere.

Interestingly enough, I am being asked about charity quilts again by Polish people. We are expecting a tough winter this year - So…I really need to finish up ALL my tops. I’m serious. I am getting psychologically ready to really move on these quilt tops. I suppose I should be making some more labels - that is the thing that is going to be the holdup. :)
