"Kittens in the Garden" - a top

This top I finished while in Florida.

I just forgot to share it with you!

When I left, it wasn’t finished being quilted yet - and I’m not sure of the status right now. We told the quilters there was no hurry - since they were very busy.

Anyway- Rachael has a lot of this fabric and we’d like you to see how cute this project ended up.

We did change around a few of the fabrics - but this is the project. It’s a free one by Henry Glass.

What happened is that Rachael had sent me all this stuff a year or so ago - and then, like all those other projects of mine - “found projects” I’ve been finding lately - this whole project got separated into two groups of pieces AND I didn’t finish it when I had started it. However, once I got to Florida, we started over with a new panel and coordinating pieces. I had remembered to take the pattern back to Florida with me.

And I made it.

Here it is.

If I had only actually read and followed the pattern instead of thinking I knew what to do, I could have gotten it done faster. Instead, I ended up having to take out pieces a couple of times. Finally, I got it together after a bit of ripping and resewing.

I know that we did substitute some fabrics - and changed a few of the colors. For contrast, here is the official version.

The top features the panel by Henry Glass with some beautiful cats in the garden. I love the theme - since I do like both cats and the garden. :) It wasn’t a pain to actually make the top.

And guess what I found since I came back? Yes. I found all the pieces to the one she sent me a year or more ago (more like 2 years ago I think). So I will make up my own with them. That one is still sitting in its own plastic bin.

This finished top you see shown above was left in Florida - and will stay in the store - hopefully showing people what they can do with this amazing fabric.

Here’s the panel if you want to get your own.

You can get this panel here. by Henry Glass

The accompanying fabrics can be found if you search for "Kittens in the Garden”.

Check it out!

Enjoy. This is a quick and easy idea - and if you don’t want to make such a quilt - with all the little things happening in it - you can always just get the panel, and a couple of those fun coordinating fabrics and make your own.

Have a great day wherever you are reading.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!
