"Keepin' it Cool" - a new quilt kit offered by Quilted Twins
We finished it! Completely!
Rachael was in a hurry for me to finish this one and get it to her, so I sent it to her as top and let them finish it up in Florida!
I certainly didn’t want to ship a whole quilt through the mail system, though I’m sure I could have.
But finish it, they did.
It’s ready to go!
And I finally got the pattern finished.
This is another instance where inside the house, I had no idea that the colors of the whites were so different. Look at it on the floor in the house. Look back up at the photo shown above which is outside in the Florida sun.
But of course, you can and probably should or at least COULD use all the same white or off white as the background.
I was trying for a white on white but didn’t have enough of a single piece/design.
But you certainly can! Let me say that I have plenty of pure solid white but I wanted to use a white on white print.
Rachael took the photos for me at mom’s house on that engine hoist! :)
I like it - and I know Rachael is pleased!
My sis said that they look like ceiling fan blades, or just fan blades in general, so in the end, we decided to name it “Keepin’ it Cool”.
We are also offering the pattern separately. It’s here.
I hope you like this one. I do. From the beginning I wasn’t particularly taken with the larger blocks. However, the end result, I think, is mighty fine. I’m usually quite ready to criticize my own works/designs, so this one I am ready to say that I was wrong, and that my sis was right and this one “should be” a hit.
It does finish at a full size - about 78”x93”, so a very nice sized quilt.
I hope some of you like it and maybe even a few will love it.
The photos here do not do this quilt justice! I hope some of you get to see it in the store!
Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store here!
