Black and white Top Finished -
I told you before I was in the mood to do some colorways I haven’t done in a while. Here’s one I do like - black/red/white/gray.
I wanted to make these little 4 patches - but then do something that looked a bit more, I guess, not-typical-for-me type of quilt. The four patches of black and red were made out of my 2.5” strips bags. Because it really didn’t take that many, of course, I didn’t use that much out of my bags of strips. I did cut the red and black and the sashing out of new because I had the perfect fabrics.
So I came up with this very simple design.
Yes, simple.
It did take a few hours to put it together, though, even once I had all the blocks made and cut.
I had to put the quilt the other direction in the living room because we now have a place set up to do a puzzle that we got for Christmas a YEAR ago now. See how much this war disrupted our lives? My husband was making this puzzle table and hadn’t finished it when Putin invaded Ukraine in February, 2022. He wanted to make it because our son and his wife had given us a 3000 piece puzzle of Jerusalem. It is super cool looking but we don’t want to lose pieces and know that a puzzle of this magnitude will take a while. Because of that, he made this puzzle table with edges to keep pieces on it and drawers for the pieces.
So…this one was pretty simple piecing. The layout looks like this if you are interested. I’ll offer the pattern when I get it quilted.
I really do like the pure stark contrast of everything. I hope you do too. As I said, it is not my normal style. I do try to be unpredictable sometimes.
Any suggestions on names would be appreciated.
Thanks again for coming along with me on this journey!
