Courthouse Steps Top finished
I’m not sure what this is going to be called eventually, but this is going to be a kit that Rachael is going to sell.
The final top finished is about 88”x88”.
This particular design and color scheme were specially requested. Rachael asked me if I could come up with this - and I had to guess at what fabrics Rachael could come up with to sort of simulate this look with the fabrics in her store.
This one does use 2.5” strips - see, I AM listening to what people want! I know that anyone could make this one with scraps as well. I did NOT use scraps - as I took yardage and tried to coordinate it using what some could call “Civil War” colors or a scheme. I went to the fabrics we had in the store and took a look before I cut. :)
Since I won’t be doing a pattern for free, I thought I would share the block with you, anyway. Here’s what I worked off. I drew this up.
I’m mailing this top off to Rachael. She will get it quilted and eventually this will be a quilt kit offered in the store.
It’s very easy - and with only 16 huge blocks, goes together quickly - or relatively quickly. It also makes a splash = a statement without being difficult.
That being said, if you do use the block pattern as a pattern, don’t forget to add the .5” to every number you see on it as you cut!
Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey! I appreciate it.
Have a great day wherever you are.
