"Florida Centerpiece" - a Quilt Kit available for Pre-order
All you Floridians! Yes - you. Either Floridians or maybe ex-Floridians.
We are going to have an All Florida Shop Hop 2023! Quilted Twins is going to participate. They’ve asked us to make up some quilt patterns to use the fabric that is to be featured. It goes from March 1-April 30, 2023.
Here is the first quilt. I used the quilt pattern that is for sale - called Centerpiece. Obviously we changed the colors around.
This is a kit that is available for pre-order. It will be available March 1 for pickup. This will be a Quilt KIT - just in time for the statewide Florida Shop Hop. This year is the first year they have done an ALL-Florida Shop Hope and of course, this means that this is the first time we’ve participated.
The link is here. It’s $88.
There will be a limit to how many we can sell of these - though hopefully we can meet the demand as the limit isn’t “seriously” limited. :) We’ll see.
From all the preliminary buzz, this line of fabric is going to be very well accepted. Stores are already selling out of panels. Rachael isn’t opening the fabric up for sale til the Shop Hop opens.
The quilt turned out amazingly well.
I designed it with the help of the crew there at the shop where they cut fabric. The ladies chose this color scheme.
Diane Hissong did the piecing and then long arm quilted and bound it for us. She did a great job! (She and her husband, Jeff, do long-arm quilting - if you need something done, you can find them at 937-219-4203. They live in central Florida but could meet you at the store in Dade City, or by phone give you their address.)
She used a flamingo motif for the quilting. It turned out fantastic.
Rachael got a lot of photos out the back of mom’s house.
Here it is in all its glory. We are all really happy with it. It just makes our heart go pitter patter.
Obviously, you may order this - NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE. I know…sounds silly. But we did have someone ask if you aren’t from Florida can you buy it? The answer is, “Yes”. I mean, there could be plenty of reasons you might want such a quilt even if you don’t live there!
So now you know. Even though I did not make this quilt, I did spend quite a while planning it and working out the design and colors. I’ve learned more about EQ and how to import fabrics and such - which helps me be able to design such a quilt and be able to look at it on the screen how it is going to look.
Thank you so much for coming along with me on this journey!
Have a great day wherever you are reading!
