Everything Shop Hop is BACK in STOCK!
Many of you realize that we ran out of the Florida Shop Hop 2023 panels and border print in early March.
So…what exactly am I talking about?
First of all, we have restocked this Florida Shop Hop Citrus bag - featuring the Citrus print that was available this year.
I didn’t make this or design this. The kit pattern is from a free pattern by Robert Kaufman (thank you - Robert Kafuman website!) and Julie made up the sample bag. She teaches a lot of our bag classes at the store.
The second kit available features the panel - and based on my pattern called Centerpiece. We are calling it Florida Centerpiece. The kit can be purchased for $88.
I remember working with Rachael and crew in FL over the internet as to coloration. At that point, we had the colors of the fabrics which I plugged into the Electric Quilt (EQ) program along with the panel. After making about 20 different color variations (I think), they decided on this particular one - and it is indeed stunning!
We featured it at the local county fair in Dade City and it got a lot of oohs and aahs.
The second quilt kit is called Florida Scrapbook and can be purchased here for $99.
Rachael also asked for this one - and so we played around with the coloration quite a bit back and forth. This one I designed also while here in Poland and they were in Florida.
I made it with those white squares so that people could plug in either the white that comes in the kit or their little 5” squares that they got when they went from store to store to store.
It was amazingly popular. I think that border sold it for everyone! Of course, it used a lot of that border print! But it is so amazing!
The third quilt I thought we should do based on the fabrics alone - but not the panel or the border print - just featuring the line of fabric that was available this year.
We are calling it Florida Charm. The kit is available for $88.
I thought it could be interesting and a definite change from a quilt using the panel and/or border print.
Once again, I imported all the fabrics into the EQ program and we worked with the coloration. I wanted to keep with the idea of keeping at least two similar colors together - as I had listened to one quilter designer talk about “not tripping alone” meaning that when making up a Trip Around the World design it is more effective when you have at least two similar colors together. I took that to heart when working on this. I also took my experience with bargellos and went from light to dark and back again - all the while “tripping with at least 1 friend”. So, once again, I sent many different variations of colors to the ladies in FL for them to decide.
However, this was getting close to February and right about when we decided that I would go back.
At that point, I told Rachael I could make this one up when I got to Florida. It’s a pretty quick and easy one to make.
I designed it so people could use their 5” squares that they picked up at store as well if they should so desire. It’s also the reason we called it Florida Charm. I’m sure some people ‘get it’ and others just thought I was talking about the fun things that Florida offers which are featured in this fabric.
Naturally, then, we got the fabrics in as well. They are all $12.50/yard
You can get the various prints of the All Florida Shop Hop here. I’ll put a link to each one here. For the bundle shown below, click on the link below the photo.
Here are the individual prints. You can click on any photo, and you will be taken to that fabric.
Enjoy! Obviously you do NOT have to be from Florida to buy these. Florida isn’t the only one who enjoys citrus or has boats and fish in the area. Or maybe you just like these and just want some. Feel free to order!
Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!
Have a great day wherever you are reading.
