Here are the next ten!

Here we have a nice variety - we have some donated quilts from you all, a Scrapbook style, a couple from Fran and some from Ewa/her mom. :)

So there you are - once again, a nice collection of quilts.

If you have helped with this collection, let me say Thank You yet again. I appreciate it and so do the people of Poland.

I just recently had one of the social workers from a nearby area write me and ask me if I had some quilts for them. I told the lady that after the Give-Away, I would be willing to share, but this year I’m putting priority on local people. Last year I gave her quite a few even when I didn’t manage to have a local outreach.

So, the need is here - maybe this year more than I even realize.

I wanted to show you that we really do have help now. When I told several of the men at church on Sunday that I needed help getting quilts to that room - it was momentary and they were out there getting quilts out of the van and into the room. Oh, so nice. Plus, they can carry so many at once!

Anyway, one trip or max two and the van was all cleared out - the back, plus the back seat and the passenger front seat! Sweet.

I love it when we have help like this!

I was so thankful to be able to use up so many of my 2.5” strips.

This whole process taught me one thing! It would be wise of me to just go ahead and make up more scrappy bindings when I’m kind of tired of doing other things. I could make up one or two of them at a time - at least sew the scrappy pieces together and then trim off the extra little bits and put them in some place where I knew where they were!

That way it would be faster when it comes around next time to finish up these quilts. Making the bindings took time. And that’s not to say it doesn’t take the same amount of time - it does. But if I can use my otherwise “down time” to be productive - I can make it easier on myself in the crunch times.

Obviously some of the bindings I actually made for that quilt, but if I had just a pinks or pinks/purples or reds, or browns…those would often work as well. I could make them up ahead of time and have them ready to go and it would keep me in the groove of finishing up the quilts.

Wow. eventually I will get this all figured out, right?

Once again, I’m sharing photos from past recipients and give-aways so you can enjoy these moments again. These help encourage me when I’m tired of working on these.
