“Fly By Night” - nr. 3/5
Here is the third one of the Fly by Night quilt panels that I brought back to Poland with me. I wanted to make 5 similar quilts for the 5 older girls of our Sarah and Jessica - Rachael’s daughter and my daughter-in-law.
This is the 3rd one of the five I’ve made.
I did choose fabrics that blended with the panel. I had to because I didn’t have enough of any one fabric to make them all similar, so that’s why I have the variety of fabrics in each of these tops. They are all the same, but different.
For what it’s worth, I love each of these. To me, they are all beautiful and I can’t say that I prefer one or the other. I hope that works the same for everyone who is involved.
The colors in these are just all the ones I really like. Maybe that’s why I made these - because I like the colors! :) I also think that young girls and teenagers and even adults tend to like these colors. They aren’t so great for 4 year-olds, maybe, but these are 8-10 year-old girls. I am hoping that they will grow older with these.
But then, maybe that is just how it was with “my” girls. As tweens and teenagers, they liked these colors.
In this photo you can see how well the colors in the outer border work with the center panel.
And here is the quilt roll -
This is the series so far.
Just two more and it’s the end of this mini series of quilts. I am so excited about giving these to the girls when I see them again. Well, I’m sure I will get the moms there and have them choose or something - not sure how to work that. We’ll see. Thankfully they are beautiful.
Thanks for coming along with me on this journey!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
