Quilted Twins

How are my Quilting Goals coming along?

I decided to review my quilting goals every month or two throughout the year just so I can remind myself of them and keep them in front of me. Otherwise, it is too easy to forget them.

I probably won’t review again now til mid April because in March I’m hoping to be in Florida to help my sis and spend time with my mom.

Let’s review.

  1. Finish 120 charity quilts.

    So far I’ve done none.

  2. Finish 50 quilts of my own or get caught up.

So far I’ve managed to finish 36 of my own quilts completely. :) So far, so good!

  3. Write up two patterns a month for a total of 24 patterns for the year.

I wrote up up 2 for the month of January and uploaded them to the website. So far, fine.

  4. Piece 10 quilt tops from my 2.5” strips and pieces.

    I finished one. It’s okay.

  5. Give away or sell more quilts than I finish so I diminish my totals by 10 before the end of the year.

I did not give away or sell any in January. So far - I’m behind.

  6. Get the long arm going with robotics.

So far, not happened. I have, however, been reading more on the Facebook Juki group - from which I am learning a lot. No real progress towards this because I’ve not wanted to stop using the machine in order to figure it out.

I will admit during January that I focused heavily on getting my quilts quilted. I have been ignoring a lot of other things in order to make some big progress with this. Why? Because I tend to just put off my own. This has been my problem and resulted in a big backlog.

Because of that, I decided to try to laser focus on getting as many of my tops done as I could.

So, how’s it going? So far I’m okay with what I’ve gotten done. I’m trying this year NOT to get to the end of the year and say, “Oh, I forgot all about my goals except for the 120 charity quilts.”

We’ll see how it goes in February. I feel like I’ve got my nose to the grindstone right now, so there’s that.

So that’s my update for today. I won’t review every month, but every once in a while - maybe 4-6 times during the year (unless I forget)!

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
