Quilted Twins

We are eagerly awaiting your beautiful creations for the Pasco County Fair.

Quilted Twins is in charge of the Collura Cottage, the home of all things handmade, again for the third year running. The fair runs Monday, Feb. 19 through Sunday, Feb. 25. The fairgrounds is located next door to Pasco High School on Hwy. 52, in Dade City, FL.

We are excited to be able to give back to our community in this way. Yes, it’s hard, and yes, it’s time consuming, but it’s a way to show our community that we here at Quilted Twins are committed to helping to promote hand crafts of all types.

Our job is to take the empty building called Collura Cottage and fill it with beautiful handmade, handcrafted, hand preserved items, be they edible, beautiful and/or botanical!

In an effort to change and grow with the times, last year we added in woodworking and gardening to the mix of quilts, quilted items, crocheted, knitted and other hand made more traditional crafts!

We were thrilled to have the beautiful entries that we had last year.

We have had a nice little start to collecting plants for this year. But, we are willing to accept plants today and next Friday and Saturday as well! (Feb. 16 and 17th)

Anyone with a Pasco County, FL, address can enter their handiwork into the fair. I’m promising you that there are no Fair Police out checking into whether you live at that address or just visit there regularly. We just want to see your beautiful creations and fill up this empty cottage.

On Friday we had Cheyenne and Angie up at the fairgrounds accepting your entries. Today we have two others doing so.

Cheyenne and Angie handled it on Friday!

We are hoping, when we’re finished to have a new and updated version of THIS: This was last year’s room!

This is what we ended up with for 2023!

Now, do not feel a need to fill out ANY forms at all before you head up to the fairgrounds. We have all the forms you need. We have pens, safety pins, tape and anything else we might need to attach the forms. BUT, if you need a painting or picture to be displayed in a certain way, feel free to bring an easel if your project would show best on one (and wrap your name around it with tape, so it comes back to you.)

So, to re-iterate, drop off is today (Saturday, Feb. 10) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fairgrounds on Hwy. 52 in Dade City at the Collura Cottage, which is behind the main entrance. You can check those main entrance doors and go in that way, if it’s unlocked, or else drive around the side, and go in that way. Now, next week, life gets super busy around the fairgrounds and your ability to drive up close will really be limited! So, if you have something heavy and big and want to drive up closely, come Saturday (today).

Otherwise, we will be accepting more things next Friday and Saturday again, next week, but hopefully, those things will be mainly the baked goods, cakes, jars of jam, jellies and plants and all things living. (I didn’t want to have to try to be responsible to keep things alive any longer than necessary!)

So, right now we have THESE empty buildings to completely fill, inside and they can spill outside, as well! So, please come and bring us goodies! The sooner we get them, the easier it is to spread them out and show them!

We get a couple thousand visitors each season wandering through and looking at your creations! Help to spread the vision of creating beauty through your handcrafts!

Oh, and the theme is Buckets of Fun for Everyone! So, if you have a bucket or two, bring those, too (galvanized or wooden, please, no plastic!) We’ll use them for decorating!

And so we do thank you—-for all your help! (Rachael, Ken and Becky)
