Quilted Twins

“Naturally Florida” - another quilt finish!

Last summer I worked on this top, but couldn’t share it. All I could do was say I was working on something for next year’s Shop Hop.

Last year when the AFSH asked about potential quilts to go into the magazine, I worked out several ideas with Rachael and we submitted two. This was one of them and we figured it was “magazine quality”. :) And sure enough, they chose the design for me to make up. I smiled when it got the nod.

I did design it with the storms and sun as rows because I figured they don’t get the attention they deserve as part of Florida!

I received the fabric while we were in the states for Lydia’s graduation from Clemson. I got back to Poland and made up the top and then sent it back to FL via express courier.

Here is how it looked when I sent this top to FL to be quilted.

Then Rachael had it long armed by Diane Hissong in Lakeland and we were thrilled.

Rachael sewed oranges on it while heading up north somewhere and we got it sent to Shop Hop headquarters by the deadline.

Here are a few close ups.

Then Rachael took some outside photos.

And yes, we like it - we really do!

Our quilt was put in the All Florida Shop Hop magazine but the pattern was a download simply because it was so big. This is a very large pattern!

We are offering a quilt kit which is including the pattern printed out which is pretty extensive! It does include the templates for the sun row.

You can get it here.

You can also separately order the orange buttons and the flamingo eyes as they aren’t included in kit as they are optional.

I hope you enjoy this quilt- it took hours and hours to design, make, write the pattern, etc.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for coming along with us on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
