A Pop-Up for Rachael and Ken!
Once in a while we go to guild meetings or other special groups of quilters and place our products out and about and offer them for sale to the people who are at the retreat or meeting.
Recently Ken and I got to go to one up in Lake Yale, which is close to Orlando, a bit north of us.
It was a beautiful, yet very cold morning. When we got there, the lake was steaming. By the time we left, it was just a beautiful picture of a lake, as you can see below.
When we arrived, we set up several long tables. They already had them emptied and in the room. This group was incredibly prepared, for which we are grateful!
We usually take a few moments to see what the ladies are doing. We also like to see what’s new and what we should think about bringing!
Then, we go to town spreading our stuff out! We don’t unpack everything out of the tubs, because we know that people can dig through the tubs rather easily. But, we do spread out using every available table.
We’re starting to figure out what it is that people at pop ups want!
It’s the fun stuff! The light up rulers, the 505 spray, the needle threaders, the basics that they forgot, like solid black and white fabric, and of course, always, always inspiration for new things, like fun patterns that aren’t super expensive!
Once everything is in position, then we let the ladies know we’re ready and they come through and look through our goodies, like you would at a big show, only this is a private affair!
So, since this is at Lake Yale, there was another group of quilters there, as well. So, they were invited in by the original group.
All in all, we had about 60 ladies who were able to come by and shop with us. About half of them took advantage of the opportunity to find something new and different to take home with them!
Then, after a meal in their dining hall, we gave everyone one more chance to think about all the goodies that we had brought. After that, we packed up, and headed back to Dade City.
There we had to unpack and put it all back away!
Then, we cleaned up for the next day and it starts allover again!
Thanks again for coming along with us on this journey!
Thanks, Rachael, also, for writing this blog post to let us know what goes on with a Popup!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
