That Granny Square quilt

I brought all my granny squares with me (from Lori Holt fabrics or look-alikes) so that I could put them together while here in the states. I had not been able to decide on a fabric for sashing while in Poland, so I just brought them all to the states.

However, it is 6 weeks into our stay here and I hadn’t made any progress on this top.

I decided to just make a decision and cut sashing strips and cornerstones.

And get going on finishing up this top!

So, as a minimum, I will try to add strips to at least 20 of these squares a day. That’s a minimum. The idea of finishing up this quilt would be absolutely fantastic! Once I get all of these blocks with sashing on one side, I will really be happy…as it is quite close to getting finished at that point. I think that for me, esp. with something like Granny Square blocks - I just like making the blocks!!!!

So, I’m going to try to get some of these blocks done every day. What’s been happening is that sometimes I’ve come home tired and don’t feel like working on any sewing. However, I know myself, and if I have any energy at all, and am in the middle of a fun project, I’ll try to meet my very small goal (20 strips). I will probably then work longer than 20 strips. I guess I’m trying to trick myself. LOL I’m curious if it will work.

So we’ll see. Jessica’s quilt is coming along nicely, so I think it is time to maybe not turn completely to this one, but to add this one to my list of projects to work on.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
