Granny Square Top finished!
I finished it!
Finally!
It was a struggle but I got it all finished. I am not going to quilt it now, however I want to finish it in Poland.
I found a fabric I considered a good match for the border and added it the other day.
And yes, I am very pleased.
It’s big - about 100”x107”.
Since it is so big, it does weigh a couple of pound or more and takes a bit of space with all those squares! However, I don’t usually have a problem with space going back, but rather, I usually run out of weight since they limit us to 50 lb. suitcases and fabric is heavy. :)
But I really do like it. It’s a happy quilt top!
I don’t know yet how I will quilt it - but I will deal with that once it is back in Poland.
I did not use a Lori Holt fabric for the sashing strips. However, the cornerstones are her fabric. The border fabric is not. I did not find what I was looking for in the current stash of LH fabrics in the store, so I just went to the greens to look. Overall, I think it goes just fine.
There are so many little threads on this top - I really should just work on it to clean off the threads. But not yet. I will probably wait and do that upon completion.
Once again - this top is inspired by Lori, but I already had made several granny square quilts before I sort of discovered her last year. In fact, one I’ve not shared here before is very similar to her quilt only with larger blocks. I guess I can’t help it that I like, can I? They are a great way to use up scraps in a pleasing arrangement.
This particular top, however, is so large that it is difficult to find a place to photograph it.
I will have to show it properly when I get back to Florida as I left it there. I did not get a good big picture of it before we started our trip up north.
So I struggle. Such is my life here in Florida without my own place or set up.
First world problems. :)
Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
