"Made Ya Look" - small version

I've been making another quilt lately (nothing new there, right?) - it was small, so relatively quick to make. I had some leftover "low volume" blocks and strips segregated, so it really didn't take long.

Plus, it's pretty small.

I did go and buy some special backing!  Polish folk fabric!  Here I am after sewing the crosshatching one direction. I was checking for pleats before I crossed it the other way.

Here it is as you can see, sitting on top of DNA Wrap.  The cross hatching is more visible here.

Panels are often very cheap at thrift shops in the states - no one wants an old vest panel from the '80s or a baby book they never got around to making when their kids were small. But they work once they are stripped up - as fabric - and more often than not they have words on them - which I like!

I like to throw in pieces of panels from time to time. Here, the words are from a panel telling how to sew it up. Sometimes pieces of panels show up as blotches of design as they are usually irregular when cut into strips.  

How did I decide which fabrics I wanted to use in this? Well, I tried to stick with a white or almost white background and then small to small-ish prints on them.

You can see that it is far more interesting at a close inspection than from a distance.

That's why I call this particular quilt, "Made Ya Look".

Here is the back with the cross hatch finished.  You'll be seeing more about this quilt in the not- so- distant future.

Oh...at this point, I have not written up a pattern for Made Ya Look since it is just simply squares sewn together.  Maybe someday.
