Cultural: Public transport - local trains

To a lot of Americans, the idea of public transportation is one that is completely out of their comfort zone or knowledge. 

Friday, my husband I decided to go into Warsaw, and we used the train. I wanted to stop by a quilt shop!!!!! YES!!! (I did take pictures and will share them later on this week) on the way back, but wasn't absolutely positive where to wait - in other words, which platform to stand on, at the train station. So we kind of did it together.  We left the center of Warsaw on a train together, got off at the stop mentioned and he went on home on the next train that came through.

I walked to the shop, stayed for a while, and eventually made my way back to the train station, got on the right train and came on home. Well, I went to a train station, got in my vehicle and came on home.

This is the East Warsaw train station, by the way.

I think that the yellow line is indicating where you aren't supposed to stand - in other words, "Get back!"

Before you say, "I could never do that," or "ugh", think again. It is actually LESS stress to go by train than to drive into town, find a parking place and worry about 1. parking and 2. a the traffic.

The Warsaw East station is a major hub for trains from all over - local trains and inter city trains.  I haven't gone on long distance trains that much, but our children have--at least the younger ones.

I think there are 7 tracks at this station. That's why I was unsure where to stand and wait for the train I wanted.

The train I was actually waiting for,  however, was a red and cream colored one - not the green and white one.  This picture is taken off of google images.

It's really not too warm here yet, however.  Grass is beginning to turn green and the sun, while not terribly warm today, is very bright!
