"Triple the Fun" top finished

I finished Scrubs #5. These are designs that I'm hoping to keep quick and relatively simple in my goal to use up this scrubs fabric that my sister and I bought. When I say "Scrubs" fabric, I mean, it is leftover pieces of fabric that we believe was used to make scrubs, or attire worn by nurses and nurses aids in hospitals in the USA.

It's a very fun fabric.

These pieces were giraffe themed, but obviously the pattern would be good for any "themed" print where you want to save the actual print of the fabric - big animal prints or large florals would work great.

At the time of this original writing, the "world" has gone mad about April the giraffe who is supposed to give birth any day now.  But this fabric is gorgeous, even if I weren't aware of April the giraffe, located in a zoo in NY, USA.

This is a smallish quilt. I usually do make large quilts, but this one is actually designed to be a couch type quilt - one you might use to throw over you while you watch tv. It's only 50"x62"  You could easily make it larger, however, by adding a thin brown border and a larger cream colored border. I actually considered it but decided I didn't want it to be "twin sized".

Just so you have an idea of what I'm talking about when I say "scrubs" fabrics - I received these pieces in strange shapes. This is what my giraffe pieces look like. It is also the reason I made them long and skinny - I wanted to use the fabric to the best I could - losing as little usable design.

At the widest point this fabric is about 13.5" wide and it is longer than 29" but that is where it starts to slant down at the bottom.  About 9" wide is the longest piece that I could cut wasn't super skinny.  I had 19 such pieces. It's actually quite a bit of fabric and I hope to make several quick and easy quilts out of it.

I made up a very brief instruction sheet.  It isn't detailed by any means, but if you have quilted and are familiar with strip piecing, you can follow these instructions.
