"Long View" top finished

Number 12 in my series trying to use up some beautiful scrubs fabrics top is finished.

This beautiful fabric deserved a quilt all by itself. I have plenty to make some more, mixed with other fabrics, but I thought the first should be this alone.

These are the sizes and shapes of pieces I started with.

I wrote up the pattern for you here.  It is pretty specific to my own long and skinny pieces, but maybe someone will like to use it!

When I made the hearts, I used my die cutting machine. It looks like this as I made them:

First, make a piece of fabric form 1 1/2" strips - in a variegated color scheme.

Get out my heart die.

Place the heart die on the tray, put the fabric top of the die and the plexiglass piece over the top.

Of course, you don't need a die to make hearts!!!!  You can do it the simple way - draw a heart, cut it out and use it as a pattern and simply cut out hearts out of your fabric!  I've done that a lot of times!

Anyway, this fabric is gorgeous - look for more using this flamingo fabric as I have quite a bit more of it! The colors are so strong, however, that a whole quilt from it will be a bit overwhelming - so I'm still considering what to do for the next one.

Have a wonderful day wherever this finds you reading!

Be sure to check out what my sis has for you over in the shop area!
